I was still in Communist Cuba when this new dance called The Twist came out — but, once again, I missed it. Like I had missed most of the new dance crazes during the 60’s.
In fact, I have a total “pop culture blank” -that lasts from 1959 (when the Revolution started) thru 1964 when we finally escaped from Cuba.
Missed all new movies, music, books, free newspapers & TV - plus all fashion news and political events except thru the communist Castro government interpretation!
I was an adolescent with a “stopwatch” in my life that lasted 6 years!
